As you all know by now, Isla Fisher recently landed her first starring gig in the upcoming film adaptation of "Confessions of a Shopaholic." She had a baby. A big bounding bundle of Borat joy. They named her Olive.

The real question is, could she regain her pre-preggers figure to star in glammed up "Confessions"? It's only been four months she gave birth after all.

You decide! Here are some set photos I managed to get my hands on. A lot of Bothan of spies died to get us this information:

Proof that art imitates life and not the other way around: Here is a photo taken the other day of Isla and Borat(Wearing that shirt she makes him wear.) hanging about in Venice, California. But guess what they were doing?! That's right. Shopping. I think she's just practicing for her upcoming role in "Confessions of a Shopaholic". She's always been very fond of the method school of acting. Oh that Isla!

Also, wow, really pregnant.

Confessions of an Isla-aholic

My favorite Aussie just landed the lead role in a film based off of Sophie Kinsella's Confessions of a Shopaholic.

The film will find the future mother of Borat's children playing a financial journalist who gets in over her head when her shopping habit becomes more an addiction than an affectation. I hate when that happens. It's going to be directed by PJ Hogan who also helmed "Muriel's Wedding" so maybe Isla will have to put on a few pounds and become fixated by Abba. Here's to hoping!

Also, Variety reports that the film will begin lensing in November. Isn't she due to give birth at some point during the winter? Won't she be huge? Is it really confessions of a pregnant shopaholic? Not that there's anything wrong with that. It sure does add a new angle to the storyline though.

Check out this clip of Isla back when she was a lot more bikini'd and a lot less pregnant:

Don't worry folks. She'll back in that shape again one day. No word on whether or not Borat will ever let her wear a bikini again though.
Naomi Watts threw a star-studded baby shower earlier today and our Isla was there with bells on. Kate Hudson and Robin Tunney were also on-hand to swap oohs and ahhs over baby gifts. Here is a picture of her arriving at the shower:

She looks significantly less pregnant than she just did just the other day in that other Naomi related pic. It's amazing how well the color black hides baby fat. Also, what is that present?! My guess is it's Borat related. And of course no post about this photo would be complete without pointing out that the valet's outfits makes them look like they belong at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft. Maybe they have spoilers about the new Harry Potter book. I'll get right on that.

Woops. She's already showing.

Isla Fisher and Naomi Watts were recently seen shopping together. I love to see two hotties out and about! Well actually I guess that'd be four hotties if you count the babies. Scratch that. Maybe five hotties if you believe the Isla is having twins rumor that I previously posted. In any case, these two Aussies look extremely pregnant. They look like an alien is about to pop out of their stomachs and start singing "Hello my baby, hello my darling, hello my ragtime galllllll". Isla still looks cute though. I guess they call that motherly glow.
In a rare case of life imitating art, Isla gets pregnant and then lands a role playing a girl who is obsessed with food. You heard that right. Isla Fisher has landed her first starring vehicle. The movie is called "The Cookie Queen" and she plays a woman who becomes obsessed with selling more cookies than a fifth grader. Shades of "Election" perhaps? In any event it sounds funny and perfect for her! Lets hope Borat approves of the script and makes sure she doesn't show a naked shoulder or anything. It starts filming soon. Hurry before she starts showing!

I made this to commemorate this historic occasion:
Poor Borat. Word on the street is that our dear Ms. Fisher has begun dressing him so as to discourage feminine advances. His shirt reads "Sorry girls. I'm gay." I like to think this is her way of getting back at him for refusing to let her do nude scenes. I like to think a lot of things that are probably not true though. But it's a nice dream isn't it? And don't get me started on those knee-length camo shorts.

Book Review: Seduced By Fame

Isla Fisher wrote two teen novels when she was just a teen herself(18 to be exact.) I recently found "Seduced by Fame" at a yard sale near my apartment. I read, um, most of it. Some of it? Ok, a few pages. Still, here is my review:

First of all I must say I am very proud of her for writing entire books when she was that young. When I was 18 I think I just masturbated a lot, ate cheeseburgers and watched a crappy VHS copy of "Forrest Gump" over and over. Never at the same time sickos. Lt. Dan was cool but not that cool. Anyway, this book is more or less a how-to for girls to get over social anxiety disorder and realize that being famous and hot isn't everything. The narrative involves a young girl realizing her dream of becoming an actress and then discovering it aint all sunshine and roses. Well I haven't gotten to that part yet but thats what the back of the book says. Frankly, I want the fully grown Isla to pen a sequel. I'd like to see her take on beauty and fame now that she is, well, beautiful and famous.

So far, I guess it's a page turner(I've turned about seven.) If you are a sicko and have an Isla Fisher shrine in your bedroom, then this would make a pretty good addition. Otherwise, wait for the new Harry Potter.

Two weeks and counting

Get pumped! In just two weeks Isla Fisher will be gracing the silver screen yet again. This time, with that SNL dude Andy Samberg. You know, the Chronicles of Narnia rap guy. He kind of reminds me of this one kid I knew in high school who would always be joking around. Constantly doing impressions and telling jokes. I guess it was kind of funny but after awhile everyone just laughed because they didn't want to hurt his feelings. Eventually, it got pretty awkward. Ahh high school.

Anyway, the film is called "Hot Rod" and looks like a silly dumb comedy in the vein of "Talladega Nights". Will Arnett from Arrested Development is also in it so how bad can it be? And let us not forget our dear Mrs. Soon to be Borat. She looks stunning in this flick. Perfect combination of girl next door and the perfect hottie that we all know she is. Well, I'll be there opening weekend because I live to see Isla blown up to gigantic sizes. It opens August 3rd.
